Und man muss doch eingestehen man kann die Entscheidung nachvollziehen. Der Mann hat das gewisse Etwas!
Da ist man sich einig und so soll L’Oréal Gerard Butler als neues Gesicht für L’Oréals Men’s Expert Linie verpflichtet haben.
Von nun ist Butler auf Schönheits-Mission mit Rasierschaum und Waschlotions.
Zu den Einsatzgebieten des 40jährigen gehört unter anderem künftig das Testen und weltweite Promoten (außer in den USA)
von Feuchtigkeitscremes, After Shaves und Co. Zudem wird eine Anzeigenkampagne für L’Oréals Hydra Energetic Linie gestartet.
Wir können uns also in Zukunft auf ein hübsches männliches Gesicht mehr in der Werbung freuen.

In praise of … Gerard Butler. By Shona Craven
Just imagine the banter when Gerard Butler – the newly appointed “spokesmodel” for L’Oreal – next meets up with his drinking buddies in Paisley.
The mind boggles to think how many obscenity-laden variations on “because you’re worth it” will be directed at the poor guy as he is served up pints of Hydra Energetic instead of beer. When I say poor, I do of course mean rich, successful and outrageously handsome.
This is a canny move by L’Oreal at a time when most references to the company are in articles about helmet-haired heiress Liliane Bettencourt and her allegedly dodgy financial dealings. In fact, it’s possible the hiring was just a big misunderstanding. A faithful butler of Ms B’s has recently presented tape recordings of her phonecalls to police in a bid to clear her name – perhaps she was heard to declare her appreciation of the man, and the next morning found a stubbly Glaswegian actor on her doorstep, expectantly clutching some moisturiser.
Either way, the result is that Gerry joins the likes of Claudia Schiffer, Eva Longoria and, er, Eric Cantona in a unique club for beautiful people (can we just ignore Cheryl Cole, please? Forever?), and will rival YouTube sensation Old Spice Man for the affections of ladies who buy toiletries for their inadequate real-life partners. According to L’Oreal, his “charmingly authentic, natural air will win him the respect of consumers”. This makes sense, since it was definitely his acting skills in 300, rather than his oiled six-pack, that won the respect of cinema-goers.
Did I mention he jumped into a river to save a drowning child a few years back? Swoon. If that’s not Hydra Energetic, I don’t know what is. To clarify, I have absolutely no idea what the stuff is. But I’m sure it’s lovely.

Massive Untitled Comedy Goes To Virgin Produced And Gets A Name?
We’re one step closer to seeing that massive comedy collaboration with Richard Gere, Anton Yelchin, Gerard Butler, Naomi Watts, Hugh Jackman, Kate Winslet, Anna Faris, Johnny Knoxville, Julianne Moore, Liev Schreiber, Elizabeth Banks, Kristen Bell, Kate Bosworth, Josh Duhamel, Justin Long, Seann William Scott, Emma Stone, Jack McBrayer, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Uma Thurman. As reported by Deadline, the untitled comedy now belongs to Richard Branson’s latest business endeavor, the new production company Virgin Produced.
The film will consist of 19 segments, 14 of which have been shot. Each piece comes from a different director like Steve Brill, Steve Carr, James Gunn, Peter and Bobby Farrelly, Brett Ratner, Banks and Griffin Dunne. Virgin has a deal with Relativity Media to distribute their films, but Relativity is also co-financing this one.
Could this get any better? Apparently it can. Deadline is also saying that the stellar roster is continuing to grow. The portion the Farrelly brothers directed with Jackman and Winslet is already in the can, so it’s being peddled around to pull in even more talent. That segment is being described as “especially outrageous and R-rated.”
Lastly, a Variety article discussing the launch of Branson’s packaging and production company is calling this film Movie 43. Did the untitled comedy finally get a name? It’s possible, but this is the first I’ve heard of it. Actually, it’s not, but the only other article I found using that title includes details that don’t quite correlate with the facts we have. In a Slash Film piece about Relativity’s new streaming deal with Netflix, one of the film’s on the list to hit Netflix and not a premium television channel is “Movie 43, written and directed by Peter Farely.” Spelling error aside, if they’re talking about the same film here, where are the names of the other directors? The press release also states that the film is set to hit theaters this year. With five more segments to film? I doubt it.

Gerard Butler is a karaoke fool. Not only was the actor whooping it up at Rockstarz Karaoke in Garden City a few weeks ago -- alongside Demi Moore and Michelle Monaghan , no less -- but he took to the microphone again over the weekend, when he got on stage at Cheli's Chili Bar in Dearborn during the wrap party for "Machine Gun Preacher," the movie he's been shooting locally in recent weeks. According to witnesses, Butler sang Oasis ' "Wonderwall" while people cheered him. No sign of Moore, at least not at this performance.

Gerard's a billion dollar star
GERARD Butler has broken the billion dollar barrier at the US box office.
The former lawyer has become one of the most bankable faces in Hollywood in just 20 films.
The 40-year-old joins a select list of Scottish stars whose films have earned more than $1billion - pounds 637million - in the US.
They also include Ewan McGregor and Sean Connery. But critics have warned that Butler's success could fade as quickly as it arrives.
Jessica Barnes of website Cinematical, said: "Even though his celebrity quotient is rising, the quality of his movies isn't and that's a dangerous combination.
"Butler has a natural charm which should make him the perfect specimen for leading man status but you wouldn't know it from his career choices.
"He isn't the first to fall victim to over-exposure and bad decisions but audiences are a fickle sort who can turn on you at the drop of a dime. "
Website BoxOffice Mojo compiled box office takings for 20 films in which the actor had taken lead orsignificant roles.
Overall, his films took pounds 637million at the US box office.

Gerard Butler Scores New Role
Gerard Butler is set to play a soccer coach in new movie 'Slide', which he will also produce.
Gerard Butler is set to take on the lead role in a new soccer movie.
The 'Bounty Hunter' actor has already agreed to produce sporting film 'Slide' but is now in talks to take on the part of a troubled father who tries to win back his son's affections by coaching his team.
However, his charming personality and handsome looks means he gets a little too involved with the mothers of the younger players.
'Slide' originally started out as a baseball comedy called 'Confessions of a Little League Coach' but it has now switched sports.
'Seven Pounds' director Gabriele Muccino is keen to direct the project but is still trying to find room in his busy schedule.
Gerard will produce the film through his company Evil Twins and his fellow producers, including Jonathan Mostow, are keen for him to put on his coach's tracksuit and show off his ball skills, according to Empire Online.

Gerard Butler Looks to SLIDE into Youth Soccer Film
Quick, name your favorite American-made soccer movie. If you said The Big Green: correct. If all that came to mind were ineligibly foreign titles like Shaolin Soccer or Bend it Like Beckham, I don’t blame you — Hollywood isn’t exactly pumping ‘em out with any sort of quality control. Gerard Butler would like to change that, to the extent that he will revamp the baseball-centric project Confessions of a Little League Coach so that it revolves around youth soccer instead.
Butler was on board Confessions solely as a producer; now that the script from Robbie Fox (So I Married an Axe Murderer) is being reimagined as the soccer film Slide, the Scottish actor is in talks to star. In an attempt to further Slide’s international pedigree, Italian filmmaker Gabriele Muccino (Pursuit of Happyness) has been keen on the film for awhile as a potential directing gig, though may be held back by scheduling issues. According to 24 Frames, the plot centers around “a troubled father trying to make up for lost time by coaching his son’s team — but who finds himself in hot water after some of the local mothers take a little too much of a shine to him (and he to them).” The project was once housed at Sony, though the report indicates that the partnership might not be unconditional. Kevin Misher (Public Enemies) and Jonathan Mostow (the director of Surrogates) are producing alongside Butler under his Evil Twin banner — if they finance Slide independently, Sony could still distribute.
Butler will next be seen on screen the Ralph Fiennes-directed Shakespeare adaptation

Wie wir heute bei der LATimes lesen können, berücksichtigen die Sony-Bosse die weltweite Soccer-Begeisterung bei den Planungen für ihr bevorstehendes Filmprojekt Slide. Die tragische Komödie dreht sich um einen Vater, der seinem Sohn bisher nie die Aufmerksamkeit geschenkt hat, die diesem zusteht. Um eine Bindung zwischen den beiden herzustellen, übernimmt der Papa den Trainerposten der Fußballmannschaft seines Juniors. Probleme bekommt der Charmebolzen, als er sich zu sehr für die Mütter seiner Schützlinge interessiert.
Ursprünglich sollte Baseball die thematisierte Sportart sein, aber die Verantwortlichen haben sich mitterweile anders entschieden. Zum einen kann das dem frisch verpflichteten Hauptdarsteller zugeschrieben werden: Gerard Butler (Der Kautions-Cop, 300) soll den läuterungswilligen Rabenvater spielen. Der Schotte gilt als begeisterter Fußball-Fan und treuer Anhänger des schottischen Vorzeigeklubs Celtic Glasgow. Zum anderen hat Sony mit dem starbesetzten Big-Budget-Baseball-Film Moneyball mit Brad Pitt ein heißes Eisen in der uramerikanischsten aller Sportarten im Feuer.

I get on well with Gerard Butler because we're both working class, says rising star Jay Baruschel
HE'S the rising movie star who has been dubbed the next Tom Hanks - but there are times when Jay Baruschel wishes he was the next Gerard Butler.
It's been a busy year for the 28-year-old actor who appears in three big movies this summer, including the magical, newly releaed Disney blockbuster The Sorcerer's Apprentice.
"This is the year of Jay," said the Canadian. "But I'm very aware that I could blow it so easily. It's kind of like serving blowfish at a sushi restaurant - with one wrong cut, I could kill everything."
He says that some of his best advice on keeping his head comes from Butler.
The two worked together on the animated children's film How To Train Your Dragon, playing father and son. It's a paternal role the 40-year-old Scot seems to have taken to heart.
"We text each other all the time," said Jay, who reckons they share a bond because both come from humble origins, Gerry in Paisley and Jay in Montreal.
"We both come from working class backgrounds, and both of us have parents who split up when we were young. And both of our dads were, shall we say, interesting people.
"I really admire Gerry. We have a lot in common and we catch up wherever we can."
But Jay reckons that he and the Scottish hunk make something of an odd couple.
"Someone saw Gerry and I having dinner in New York recently," he said.
"Straight after, they asked me, 'What on earth were you two doing together?' I think Gerry's too gorgeous to be seen hanging around with nerds like me."
Modest Jay, who has a growing fanbase, is on a flying visit to Edinburgh but says he knows the city well after visiting pals here when he was in his late teens.
"I love the sense of humour, and British humour too," he said. "I also love your breakfasts - I have them for dinner. Why not?"......usw.

Hollywood stars heading to SA
The local movie scene is blooming with more stars headed to our shores.
Halle Berry will wrap up shooting the movie Dark Tide in Cape Town later this week, while Gerard Butler is on his way here too.
Butler is set to spend a few weeks in South Africa filming more scenes for his movie Machine Gun Preacher.
He has been in Michigan shooting the film, which is based on the true story of Sam Childers, a former drug-dealing biker who became a crusader for hundreds of Sudanese child soldiers.
Childers and his wife founded an organisation called “Angels of East Africa” where they look after about 300 orphans.
A remake of the Judge Dredd movie is also due to be filmed here soon with Karl Urban, known for his roles in Lord of the Rings and the re-make of Star Trek, set to play Sylvester Stallone’s character.
